Today, we’re proud to introduce Fort. Save for Good, a charity built on the belief that games can do more than entertain. They can heal, uplift, and connect communities.
Our mission is simple: Using the power of gaming communities, Fort. Save for Good raises funds and awareness for a variety of charitable causes, such as disaster relief and medical research.
Before we look ahead, let’s take a moment to acknowledge what we are building from.
Our friend John Gillick was the founder of Castles & Chemo, a TTRPG charity. After gaming helped him through cancer, John channeled his passion for gaming into fundraising adventures for the American Cancer Society as well as game drives for children’s hospitals. While his organization went quiet following his passing in 2019, Fort. Save for Good hopes to both continue and expand upon its mission to give back through games.
We humbly dedicate this new chapter to John Gillick. May every roll of the dice carry his spirit forward.
What Is Fort. Save for Good?
Fort. Save for Good is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that aspires to build a thriving community of gamers who share our desire to give back. Some examples of our efforts include:
Tabletop one-shots tailored around causes that allow adventurers and spectators alike to provide aid.
Magic: The Gathering events and livestreams.
Warhammer miniature painting competitions to showcase our community’s creativity and artistry.
Our hope is to pave the way for gamers of all varieties to come together and help both broad, global relief efforts and smaller, local charities that may frequently go overlooked. As a community, we can prove that gamers don’t just create their own worlds but also help make this one better.
Join the Party
This is just the beginning. Whether you’re a GM, a hobby painter, a card-slinger, or someone who just loves to roll dice with purpose, we invite you to join us. Follow our journey, support our streams and events, and share our story. Because when gamers unite for good, even the darkest dungeons have light at the end.
Together, we roll for change.
