Legends Never Die: Honoring Cancer Heroes Through TTRPG Adventures

At Fort. Save for Good, we believe that stories are more than just entertainment. They are a way to remember, to honor, and to heal.

 

As we launch our upcoming charity events for Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder 2e, and Shadowdark, we are adding something deeply personal: turning real-life heroes into player characters, beginning with those who have faced one of life’s greatest battles.

 

Our First Wave: Heroes Touched by Cancer

In honor of Castles & Chemo, who started this tradition, the first wave is dedicated to those impacted by cancer. These are people who showed us what true courage looks like, who met fear with hope, who laughed, dreamed, and lifted others even when facing unthinkable challenges. We are inviting you to share their stories as adventurers, healers, champions, and legends.

 

What We’re Creating

We’re crafting a series of playable characters inspired by real people for use in: Dungeons & Dragons 5e, Pathfinder Second Edition, and Shadowdark RPG

 

We’re looking for submissions from our community to help us tell these stories. If you know someone touched by cancer, submit them as a hero.

 

To submit a hero, please send:

 

• Their name (or how you'd like them remembered)

• A short story about who they were and how cancer touched their life

• Any personality traits or values you'd like reflected in the character

• A class that would best match your hero.

 

Why This Matters

Every game we play is a chance to keep memories alive, to turn pain into purpose and stories into strength. By honoring cancer heroes at the table, we keep their light burning and help raise money to support others still fighting.
